The Back Out Plan.

When ever you enter into a relationship and you need to store stuff at his/her house, you need to have a back out plan just in case things go bad.  This means that you need to be able to gather “your stuff” in a short period of time or risk losing them.

Now, if you don’t care if you ever see these items again, that is fine.  But, if you would like them back, you need to grab them NOW! because there is no guarantee that you will ever see them again. Come next week, your valuables could end up in the trash.  So, don’t keep anything there that you consider to be really valuable.  And if you do, be sure to grab it on the way out.

It Just Doesn’t Feel Right.

The other day, I dated a woman and we had chemistry.  But, something just didn’t feel right between us.  She was very nice but she seemed a little cold.  And, there was no sparkle in her eyes when she looked at me.  In short, she was so not into me.

I think that she was just looking for a man, any man.  And since I was male, alive and heterosexual, I met her criteria.

Now, while I don’t expect women to drool over me, I would like them to show some interest.  But, this one didn’t.

Wanting to give her the benefit of the doubt, I asked her out for a second date but the response was the same.  And, even though I thought that she was very nice, the relationship just didn’t feel right.  Yes, there was chemistry but there just wasn’t that spark.

Well, chalk that one up to experience.  Chemistry is only the beginning of a relationship.

Chemical Bonding!

When you become sexually active with someone, your brain starts producing chemicals which causes you to bond with that person.  For some people, those bonds can be quite strong and happen quite quickly while for others, it can take a long time for that bond to take place.  And for some, that bond never happens.

Past experience has taught me that I bond quite quickly and form a strong attachment.  Therefore, I have to be very careful and make sure before I become intimate with someone.  Otherwise, I end up with a broken heart.

Caveat emptor.

Situational Ethics.

How a person responds to various situations really reveals how they think.

For instance, when I tell women about my daughter and grand daughter living with me, some women can fully appreciate the situation while others think that I should practice tough love and throw them out on the street.  Still, others have no opinion at all.

Now, since I have already made the decision about my daughter and grand daughter living with me, I obviously don’t think the same as the tough love people.  This means that we are likely to have conflicts in the future.

Always keep your eyes and ears open.

Beware Of Chemistry!

Chemistry in a relationship is essential.  It is what gives you “the hots” for each other.   But, just because you have the hots for someone doesn’t mean that the two of you are compatible.

And there in is the danger.  It is possible to be totally attracted to someone who is totally wrong for you!  Only when it is too late do you come to realize your mistake.

Chemistry is essential but sanity is a must.

Truth In Dating!

A  single woman that I work with lists her age as 42.  I actuality, she is 52.  Recently, she was upset to discover that her boyfriend, who listed his age as 59, was actually 69.

Well, it seems to me that they have a lot in common.

Don’t Ask, Don’t Lie!

I never ask a date why they got divorced partly because it is past history and partly because they are not going to admit to any fault in the relationship.  No woman is going to say that she has a spending problem or a gambling addiction and that is what led to the divorce.  Instead, they will put all of the blame on the husband.

But, if you keep your ears open, and listen carefully, you will come to realize the source of the divorce.

Does She Get Along With Her Family?

This might seem rather strange but I feel that it is important to determine a persons standing with their immediate family.

I once dated a woman who didn’t get along with her siblings.  In fact, when her sister-in-law died, no one told her of the death.  Instead, she read about it in the paper.

And while not always accurate, sibling relationships are a very good indication of character.  After all, if a person is not liked by their family, maybe it is not the fault of the family.

Photos, Which One Are You?!

Some women like to post photos of themselves and their five girl friends.  While the photos are nice, I just can’t tell who is who.  Or, more to the point, which one are you?  Do I get to take my pick?

So, why bother to post a picture if no one can tell who you are?

A Clown?!?!

I am always amazed at bad profile pictures.  The other day, a woman posted a profile picture of herself in a clown outfit.  Well, I guess she was just being honest.  Unfortunately, that picture left a lasting impression.
